Ryan Coonan is a writer, director, theatre maker and award winning filmmaker. He has spent his professional life creating numerous theatre works, films, corporate documentaries and promotional content.
Ryan has written and directed numerous projects across the mediums of film and theatre, including; Jake Lives – an original musical production paying tribute to the Blues brothers and Crossbeat – a documentary featuring the late Billy Thorpe about the Rock ‘n Roll history of Kings Cross.
Ryan’s film projects have ranged from short narrative to documentary pieces with a plethora of corporate and promotional material in-between. His ability to direct a vision that connects with audiences has seen his work screened internationally and locally as part of many festivals and television screenings.
Some of his award winning films are; True Story, Numurkah, Finding Your Niche, Skeletons and the recently released Waterborne. Waterborne’s world premiere was held at this years Fantasia Film Festival in Canada and has been selected in several international festivals including Fantastic Fest for its American premiere.
Ryan is continually involved in the development of many projects and operates as a freelance filmmaker.
